The human evidence, study by study

Very little human research exists. A 2026 systematic review (PMID 42885452) found three human studies with 30 participants in total. All were uncontrolled or very small, and the reviewers rated the certainty of evidence very low.

What the review concludes

The studies reported no treatment-related adverse events, but 30 people in uncontrolled studies is far too few to establish safety or benefit. The review concluded BPC-157 should not be used clinically outside regulated trials (PMID 42885452).

Animal and cell research

Most BPC-157 research is in animals and cells. Animal results don’t show that something works or is safe in people. The “How much research” table below lists the latest PubMed papers.
